Nordisk Pianotreff 2023
Dear participant, welcome to the program and registration page for the Nordic Piano Convention 2023!
Here you will find the following info:

1) Program
The seminars will be held on June 2nd and June 3rd., and the preliminary day schedule is as follows:Friday June 2:
- Opening ceremony at 9 am in “Risørhuset” Convention center- Seminars begin at 10 am, and last until 12 pm including coffee break.
- Lunch between 12 pm and 1.30 pm in “Tollboden” restaurant
- Second seminar begins at 1.30 pm until 3.30 pm (the convention center is held open until 5 pm)
- Free time for own disposal
- Boat departing at 5.45, sailing to Stangholmen island for barbeque dinner. Return to Risør in the evening
Saturday June 3:
- Seminars begin at 10 am in “Risørhuset” Convention center, and last until 12 pm including coffee break.
- Lunch between 12 pm and 1.30 pm in “Tollboden” restaurant
- Second seminar begins at 1.30 pm until 3.30 pm (the convention center is held open until 5 pm)
- Free time for own disposal
- Concert in Risør Church at 6 pm
- 3-course Dinner at 8 pm in “Tollboden” restaurant
As you can see from the schedule, there will be 4 hours of seminars each day. The participants will be divided in two groups, and everyone will be able to attend all classes.
We have booked two halls in addition to the spacious public foyer that allows mingling and visiting the exhibitors Helmut Abel and Knud Danielsen.
2) Registration fee and deadline
There is a fixed registration fee per person (regardless of participant or partner), which is set to NOK 3.500,- and includes everything as mentioned below:
- 2-course lunch Friday and Saturday at “Tollboden” restaurant
- Boat trip and barbeque at Stangholmen island on Friday evening
- Concert ticket for Die Winterreise in Risør church on Saturday at 6 pm
- 3-course dinner at “Tollboden” restaurant on Saturday at 8 pm
Deadline for registration is April 1st. 2023.

Nordic Piano Convention 2020
This year the convention will be held at the four star Montra Skaga Hotel in Hirtshals from September 24-27th.
Located in the northern part of Denmark it’s easy to access from the rest of Scandinavia.
We have some very interesting presentations as well as hands-on seminars from Schimmel, Reyburn, Jahn and others. We hope for some great days with lots to learn and good company from colleges near and far.
You can make your very own schedule from all the seminars and presentations. Unfortunately there is not enough time to do all of them, so choose carefully what seems the most interesting to you.
In order to give the participants, the best experience, the Schimmel hands-on seminars will have a limited amount of participants, so sign up for the seminars you are interested in. You will find the details in the registration form. It’s a first come, first served principle, so don’t hesitate to register.
Registration deadline is June 20th.

Nordisk Pianotræf 2020
Pianotræffet bliver i år afholdt på det firestjernede Montra Skaga Hotel i Hirtshals d. 24-27. september.
Det bliver et træf med spændende oplæg og hands-on workshops fra Schimmel, Reyburn, Jahn m.fl. Vi håber på at få nogle lærerige dage i selskab med gode kolleger fra nær og fjern.
Du sammensætter dit helt eget program ud fra de forskellige oplæg og workshops. Der er desværre ikke tid til at komme igennem det hele, så vær sikker på at vælge hvad der interesserer dig mest.
For at give deltagerne den bedst mulige oplevelse er der på Schimmels workshops en øvre grænse for antallet af deltagere, så husk at krydse dem af i tilmeldingsformularen hvis du vil deltage. Det er først-til-mølle, så tøv ikke med at tilmelde dig!

Nordisk Pianotreff 2019
NORDISK PIANOTREFF WILL TAKE PLACE
14.-15.6.2019 in Turku, FINLANDPianotreff is part of our Nordic collaboration since 1996. Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark will host annually our Nordic friends except every fourth year when the Europiano conference will take place. The convention is open for everyone around the world who takes interest in our profession.
The convention will be the 19th this year and it is located in Finland for the fourth time. You can find more information about NPTA here.
PIANOTREFF IN FINLAND
Welcome to the Treff in Finland once again! This year’s convention will take place at the Turku Conservatory of Music. It’s very close to the heart of the city and the hotel is at the shore of the famous river Aura. It just happens to be that our hotel is an old retired ship s/s Borea on that river. It’s not the fanciest, but I heard it was delightful and very personal. Sauna, breakfast and towels are included. All the rooms have a bathroom with toilet. We will also have a dinner on Friday at the deck 4, and the bar ”Manöver” is open from 17-24 at the deck 5. Our dinner for Saturday is in the restaurant Göran which should be at the same courtyard. The lunch, dinners and coffee are included for all the participants.
Arrival to Turku is a no brainer. There is a train leaving straight from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to the centre of Turku. You can by train tickets from VR. Our western friends have an opportunity to travel by ship; the harbour is almost next door.You can see the prices and do the online registration from here.

Checking in for Hotel is from 15:00 to 18:00 on the day of your arrival. If you come later, please tell the hotel your arrival time. Checking out from the hotel on Sunday is before 11:00 am.

Hjertelig velkommen til Nordisk Pianotreff 2017
Styret i NPTF (Norges Piano- og Tekniker forbund) har den glede å invitere alle våre nordiske kollegaer til årets Pianotreff 2017.
Årets treff vil foregå i Fredrikstad, Norge den 22. sept – 23. sept.
Treffet vil foregå på Quality Hotel Fredrikstad. Her vil også losjering og bespisning foregå. Hotellet er relativt nytt og ligger sentralt midt i Fredrikstad sentrum. Vi kommer også til å benytte oss av Fredrikstad kulturhus (Blå Grotte) som ligger vegg i vegg med hotellet.

Årets program:
Programmet i år er veldig spennende, og det meste er allerede fastsatt, blant annet:
– Eric Schandall (S&S US) skal holde foredrag om flygelregulering.
– Allen Wright (tidligere S&S GB, Oberlin College tech),
og hans foredrag: ”Why Didn’t I Think About That!”
– Bösendorfer: Ferdinand Bräu – Senior Product Designer & Artist Relation Manager, Peter Von Seherr-Thoss – Sales & Marketing Manager.
– Yamaha skal fortelle om sine hybrid/silent systemer: Shinya Matsumoto – Service Manager Europe, Jens Lentzer – Head Piano Technician / klavierbaumeister
– og firma Knud Danielsen (DK) er selvfølgelig til stede.Fredag er det lagt opp til guidet omvisning i ”Gamlebyen”, Nord-Europas best bevarte festningsby. Gamlebyen ble grunnlagt år 1567 av Kong Fredrik II av Danmark/Norge.
Fredrikstad har dessuten 450 års byjubileum i 2017!!Lørdag er det konsert med den internasjonale kjente norske jazzpianisten Tord Gustavsen og hans trio, hvor vi på sedvanligvis avslutter treffet med en festmiddag.

Fredrikstad ligger ved kysten ca 100 km med bil sør for Oslo, på østsiden av Oslofjorden.

A big welcome to Nordic Piano Convention 2017
The Board of NPTF (Norwegian Pianotuner- and Technical Association) has since last year made big preparations and scheduling for all lectures and program for the Nordic Piano Convention.
The 2017 Nordic Piano Convention will take place in Fredrikstad, Norway on 22.-23.September located in Quality Hotel and Conference Center.
Quality Hotel Fredrikstad is a relatively new Conference/Convention Center located quite down-town Fredrikstad. Parts of the Convention Program will also take place in the Culture- and Concert House next door to the hotel.

The Finnish Piano Technicians’ Association would like to welcome you all to the next Pianotreff, which will be held in Finland, the 19th-20th April 2013. The location is familiar to those who attended the previous Treffs -Hanasaari/Hanaholmen in Espoo/Esbo. (more information about the location at http://www.hanaholmen.fi/)
Hanaholmen It is now possible to register, at www.pianotreff.com Make sure you register and pay before the 15th of January – otherwise we can’t guarantee you a hotel room. The most practical thing would be to arrive on Thursday the 18th and leave on Sunday the 21th. Also on Thursday there’s a possibility to take part in a guided tour to our new concert hall, the Music House, in Helsinki.

The program is almost completely confirmed, and we can already tell you we’re going to have lectures and instruments from Yamaha, Steinway and Steingraeber. There will be lectures concerning new materials (Natural Fiber Composite, Wessel, Nickel & Gross piano parts), also concerning the things we hear in the piano sound (Perceptually optimized piano sound synthesis, Preference and Acceptance). We will hear about calculating piano action, and PianoDisc/QuietTime system. We will also get a very interesting pianist’s point of view, comparing modern piano to fortepiano.
As you can see, we’ve tried to cover many different angles with our program, going around the piano as we know it, and also find out a bit more of things that might not be a part of our everyday work, but hopefully give inspiring insights.

Programmet är så gott som helt klart, och vi kan redan berätta att vi kommer att ha seminarier och instrument från Yamaha, Steinway och Steingraber. Som du ser, har vi försökt att gå runt om pianot som vi känner det, och täcka många olika synvinklar med vårt program. Och också lära en smula om saker som inte direkt har med vårt vardagliga arbete att göra, men som förhoppningsvis kan ge inspirerande insikter.
